NEWS

On June 1 2024 Shorai Service LLC acquired only the assets, trademarks, and rights to distribute Shorai brand battery products in North America.  Unfortunately, the previous owner became insolvent after distributor/customer Tucker Rocky's failure to pay their very large debt to Shorai in 2023.  Note that Shorai Service LLC has no legal obligation to honor any contracts prior to June 1 2024, including warranty support promises that were made by any previous brand owners or entities like Tucker Rocky.  However, Shorai Service LLC  is dedicated to re-building the Shorai Battery brand in North America, and making many new, happy customers.  As such, we will be honoring the warranty on all past sales within the 48 Continental United States, and have even increased the pro-rated discount in months 14 to 18 from 50% to 65%.  Unfortunately shipping regulations have changed recently which makes it impossible for us to ship products to Hawaii and Alaska, and so we will not be offering legacy warranty support for those locations, nor can we make new sales.  

 

  • Shorai warranty support for our Canadian customers is now being handled directly by our Canadian distributor, Kimpex.
  • As of July 2024 the Shorai BMS01 charger (SHO-BMS01) has been discontiued due to supply chain issues. We still offer support for any current BMS01 charger owners.
    We are sorry for any inconvenience.
  • Spring 2025 - Shorai releases the case 7 battery. LFM21A7-BS12 to replace the LFM21A6-BS12 (disc) providing a smaller format for the same capacity and CCA rating. 
  • Coming Soon! Shorai to release the LFM21L7-BS12 to replace the LFM21L6-BS12, providing a smaller format for the same capacity and CCA rating.

Inclusion of BMS

Since mid 2022 Shorai Batteries have included a Battery Management System that protects the battery from over-discharge.  BMS equipped batteries can be identified by a red dot on the front label of the battery, or if your battery is an LFM version. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the documentation that came with your battery, or visit one of the many helpful pages on our site.  If you have a battery that is not cranking your vehicle well or not charging properly, BEFORE you fill out a Warranty Claim please see the Charging Tips and Troubleshooting information to check the few simple, most common issues and get instructions on how to "unlock" a BMS-equipped battery so that it can be properly charged.  Shorai Batteries which include a BMS will have a small red dot on the front label of the battery itself.

WARRANTY TERMS

NON-WARRANTY RETURNS/Refunds

Any merchandise in “new” condition which was originally purchased via the Shorai website may be returned to Shorai within 30 days of purchase by following the process below.

  • To request a return for refund, please complete the warranty request form found here -> Warranty Request
  • In the comments section of the form, please state you want to return for refund.
  • Complete the remainder of the form to include the original Shorai order number and date of purchase.
  • Once your request is received and approved, you will be contacted by Shorai with further instructions about your return. 

Limitations of non-warranty returns/refunds.

  • Merchandise must be accompanied by a Return Authorization Number (RMA), copy of receipt or order number, and all original packaging and hardware, in "new", undamaged condition.
  • Returns with missing hardware may be charged a restocking fee. 
  • Customer to pay return shipping to Shorai.
  • Refunds will be granted less the actual original shipping cost if it was a "free shipping" item.
  • A restocking fee may be assessed - or refund refused entirely - if the product or packaging is damaged (depending on severity).

 If your Shorai battery was purchased from a dealer.

  • Please consult the original place of purchase for their return policy.
  • Shorai Service LLC cannot grant returns/refunds for purchases made through other dealers.

 

SHIPPING DAMAGE

If your shipment has arrived damaged, please follow the guidelines below.

  • Take photos of the damaged box before opening.
  • Inspect the item(s), any item damaged in transit must be reported to the shipper (FedEx, UPS, or USPS) IMMEDIATELY.
  • Contact Shorai and let us know about the situation.
  • Please retain all original packaging until further notice.
  • We may request photos of the damaged package/item to initiate a claim with the shipper.
  • Shorai will respond with instructions after consulting with the shipper.
