Tyler Medaglia Charges to a Second Overall in Regina!

The fourth round of the Rockstar Energy Motocross Nationals is in the books and none other than Royal Distributing Fox KTM Racing’s Tyler Medaglia stood atop the podium with a fantastic 2nd place finish. Tyler fought hard in moto one to hold off Colton Facciotti and finish second behind Bobby Kiniry. The conditions in Regina were quite challenging, it was a mud fest. With conditions worsening throughout the day, track officials decided to cancel both the MX1 and MX2 second motos. Therefore the results of the first motos would determine the final score for both the MX1 and MX2 classes in Regina, Saskatchewan. In the MX2 class the gate dropped for the first moto and Kaven Benoit was off to a decent start, he put his head down and began to charge to the front of the pack. Due to severe track conditions the track got the better of him and he went down with his motorcycle. Kaven rose to his feet unscathed, but the same was not true for his motorcycle as it would not start forcing him to DNF. Thankfully due to his substantial points lead Kaven still has a firm grasp of the red plate moving into round 5 due to his solid past race results.

Tyler was the fastest rider in practice and it was no surprise that he finished 2nd on the day. Tyler battled throughout the first moto with Bobby Kiniry. Bobby went down giving the lead to Tyler, but would later regain the lead putting Tyler in the 2nd position. Tyler is improving each round getting faster and more comfortable aboard the motorcycle. Here is what Tyler had to say about his results and riding in Regina. “My fitness is great and I am improving each weekend, I am faster and faster each round and my bike’s running great. I could not ask for more from my team”, says Tyler. With challenging conditions in Regina expect Tyler to earn the top spot on the podium at the next race at Gopher Dunes in Ontario.

Kaven was one of the fastest riders in practice, but the day did not go the way he and the team would have liked. A crash forced Kaven to DNF. He remains optimistic going into round 5. Kaven mentioned that he was happy to have only raced the first moto as the track proved to be dangerous due to severe rain the day prior. When asked how his day was, Kaven replied: “It could have been worse, I still have the red plate and the points lead, but I am looking forward to racing close to home on the east coast at Gopher Dunes in Ontario aboard my 2-stroke” says Kaven Benoit.

Look for the Royal Distributing Fox KTM Race Team to better their results at the 5th round of the Rockstar Energy Motocross Nationals in Ontario at Gopher Dunes.
