Shorai Battery and KTM: Ready to Race

BRING IT ON:
FACCIOTTI, KLATT AND J-MEDAGLIA ARE READY TO RACE!

Tuesday May 29, 2012. St-Bruno, QC – In only four days, the gate drops in Nanaimo, BC for another season of the CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals and KTM’s factory racers can’t wait to start rubbin’ paint!

Since 2005, KTM Canada has been a major player at the Nationals, winning motos and two MX2 championships. Now, after signing on Canada’s two fastest MX1 racers, major sponsors Red Bull and Fox Racing (and Royal Distributing enters their 8th year with the team!) and hiring famed engine builder, Andrew McLean, KTM takes their race program to an all new level.

“This is definitely the biggest year of racing yet for KTM Canada,” says KTM Canada Racing Manager, Andy White. “We’re making a serious push for both titles, especially MX1, and we’ve done everything we can to fight for it. Our sponsors have stepped up like never before; Colton, Dusty and Jeremy have trained their butts off down south and our technicians made sure that every single detail is covered on the bikes. The competition is stronger than ever in both classes, and I expect fans are going to see a great show at every round.”

After months of training, testing and mentally preparing themselves for the enduring nine round, 18 moto series, KTM’s Colton Facciotti, Dusty Klatt and Jeremy Medaglia are ready to go for this Sunday’s opening round at the slick and tricky Wastelands track.

#1 Colton Facciotti

MX1 – KTM 450 SX-F

After taking some time off to let injuries heal, Facciotti spent February and March at the Georgia Practice Facility (GPF) getting comfortable on his new 450 SX-F. Despite the time off, JSR noted that Colton looks as strong as ever and you couldn’t even tell he had switched bikes

Already loving the power and handling of his 450 SX-F, Colton has worked with Factory Connection’s Mike Haist to dial in the suspension just right. The colour may have changed, but expect the same old calm, cool and super smooth Facciotti in Nanaimo.

#2 Dusty Klatt

MX1 – KTM 450 SX-F

The racing hasn’t even started yet, and already 2012 is turning into a big year for Klatt; last month he and his girlfriend welcomed a brand new baby boy into their family. That’s right—the “Campbell River Crusher” is the proud new papa of a healthy baby boy, Aaro. While Colton and Jeremy spent their spring in Georgia, Dusty remained on the West Coast, spinning laps on the tracks of Southern California. Considering his quiet demeanor, it’s no surprise that Klatt’s kept pretty quiet this spring. However, those who have watched him ride his new KTM, are predicting big things from the two-time MX1 champ.

#15 Jeremy Medaglia

MX2 – KTM 250 SX-F

Entering his third year on Orange, Medaglia is determined to match his speed and aggression with consistency. The kid has been pushing so hard with his training that JSR had to drag Jeremy back to Canada and have him relax (just a little) before the nationals begin. “I am really excited about my 2012 250 SX-F race bike!,” says Medaglia. “I have had lots of testing and my mechanic, Steph LeBlanc, has put in so much time to build me the best race bike I’ve ever had!”

Like last year, KTM’s factory racers have the “King of Canadian Motocrss,” Jean-Sebastien Roy, in their corner. He’s been a huge asset in regards to bike set-up, training programs and ensuring the riders have what they need to chase championships. “This year is exciting for many reasons,” adds JSR. “Canadian fans will see their #1 and #2 riders on a different brand of bike for the first time since 2007; the competition is stronger than ever and Jeremy Medaglia is healthy and more ready than ever!”
